freebie friday- thank you cards

One of my all-time favorite things to do is get the mail! Lame? Maybe, but I love peeking inside the mailbox in hopes that I have been sent a wedding invite, baby announcement, or just a note to say hello!

I love getting notes. But I also love sending them. Among those kinds of notes are always "thank you" cards.

Thank you cards can be sent for a wide variety of reasons- a meal brought to your family after a crisis, someone who has influenced your life and you want them to know it, or a gift given for the exciting new adventure called marriage!

Regardless of why, everyone loves to get a thank you note. And I think sending a thank you notes helps re-enforce how grateful you truly are!

 {All gift cards will measure 4x6}

Hopefully you can find these little notes useful and will send a personalized thank you to those people who have helped you in the past few weeks or so.

Monday

quotable monday - hansen family theme

{me and my dad on my wedding day}

One year ago today, my father passed away after a very courageous four year battle with cancer.
My dad is my hero. My dad is one of the greatest examples of Christ-like love that I have ever known. Its hard to know how to handle this day, but I know my dad would want me to smile and celebrate what a wonderful life he lived.

A few years ago my mom came home from the store with a sign for our home that said "Because Nice Matters" This quote has become a family theme of ours since that day. Each of my siblings has a sign of their own that hangs on the wall, reminding us that nice does matter.

I believe that kindness refines and progresses you. It builds up those around you, along with yourself.

You never know the situations and trials of others, because of that we should always treat others with love and kindness.

Because Nice Matters. It really does.

Toy Room Organization

I live in a very small, two bedroom apartment.
I have two toddler-age children and keeping the clutter and mess to a minimum is a daily challenge.
I'm trying to be more space efficient and organized in our tight living quarters
and in that process, I designed these toy organization tags.

These tags were tailored to fit my needs and I hope you can find use for them as well.

Happy organizing.

Popsicle Cozy - gift tag & pattern

I think popsicles are a huge part of summer nostalgia.

When my son was a teething baby, I'd wrap a paper towel
with a rubber band around the ice pop to keep his little fingers from getting cold.

Two kids later and a little experience has helped me make the perfect popsicle cozy.
Believe me, there have been several designs that have been modified and simplified.
There have been pocket cozies, wrap-around cozies, but the sleeve-style cozy is the way to go.

Cut out the sewing pattern from the free printable.
Just fold the top and bottom ends of your fabric under, basting stitch across.
Fold the square of fabric in half, right sides together, basting stitch down the side.
Super easy, super fast.  Only takes a minute or two per cozy.

 Use an old dish cloth, terricloth, or snug fleece.
I like the snug fleece or quilters flannel because of the fun prints available for kids!
This pattern was formulated to fit a Pedialyte popsicle, but works great on Otter Pops, too!

What kid wouldn't love getting a cozied ice pop, topped off with a coordinating gift tag!
Make summer special.

Freebie Friday- Better Late Than Never!

Alright dear readers I must apologize for the late night Freebie Friday post! Usually my summer days are carefree and casual, but today it was like a wildfire. CRAZY!

It seems like organization has been on my mind a lot lately. All the 'freebies' I've been making seem to be the type that help you keep it all together! I guess I'm telling myself something?!?

In my bio I talk about how much I love color! I wasn't kidding either-  hence I've created a plethora of wonderful options for all your kitchen and pantry label needs.

Each color option has two pages of labels. Hopefully there are enough options to keep your pantry lookin' cute!

{Please allow sufficient time when downloading each page}

It's a good weekend to make your home look pretty! Happy organizing!

Wednesday

Free ebook for kids!

Especially as a mother to preschool age children, finding FREE educational tools to help prepare my brood for kindergarten is a big treat for me.  I got an email from one of our readers, Renee, a recently retired kindergarten teacher who just launched a totally free website for parents devoted to school readiness topics.

The best part?  Renee just published her first free e-book: "Early Writing for Little Hands."  The e-book discusses how to introduce your child to the 26 letters, includes easy tips for teaching your child the proper pencil grip for writing, and includes 52 alphabet tracing worksheets (one for each uppercase letter and lowercase letter).  Like Sissyprint, Renee likes to give things away for free.

So, if you're a parent of young children like me, snag your own copy of this free ebook!  It would be great for keeping kids distracted on those long roadtrips this summer, with a little brian power as an added bonus.

Quotable monday - I pledge allegiance...

AMERICA
How BLESSED I am to live in such a magnificent country! I have had the opportunity to live in many different places all over the United States in my short 23 years. Each place brings something new and something beautiful!

I am so thankful that our forefathers were men of God. Men willing to listen to the promptings they were given and by doing so created a nation of prosperity and success.

I will celebrate this day with the National Anthem, with fireworks, with a picnic and with family!

I am now and will forever be PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!

GOD BLESS AMERICA and ALL OF YOU!

{For the best quality, all quotable Monday graphics are sized to print as a 5x7}

Friday

change of address cards

My husband has completed his masters program.
Our college days are officially behind us.
I know he'll snag that dream job soon and we'll be off to a new zip code.
When we do, I'll be mailing out these little goodies to all my friends and family.

The freebie version is left blank so you can pencil freehand,
or load into an editing program such as printshop, photoshop, or illustrator,
to type in the location of your new diggs.
