freebie friday - oh, the places you'll go! invitations

Call me a creeper, I don't care.  When I walk through the children's books, I will continue to purchase Dr. Seuss books.  I love them.  I really, really do.  I think they are cleverly written and just adorable. AND even though I am not yet a mom, that doesn't mean I shouldn't be starting the library, right?

I get my maternal practicing with my primary class. I love those tender kids, and we decided it was a great time to have a party!  This is the invite I designed for those cuties, and I would love to share the fun of Dr. Seuss with you!

Personalize it for birthdays, going away parties, graduation, oh my.  The possibilities!
Print them and love them.

And will you succeed?  Yes!  You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4% guaranteed).

freebie friday - thanksgiving name cards

Let's be honest about Thanksgiving.

There is nothing better than walking into the dining room and sitting down next to those you love at a beautiful table.  [Okay, the food is probably better.  Especially if you cook like our mother Jonas.]

But how do you feel about spicing up the decor a little with personalized place settings for each guest?  How about a pear dipped in chocolate and rolled in diced almonds?  Or maybe a homemade caramel apple drizzled in white chocolate?

Slice the top and place one of these name cards inside.

Voila!  A free, delicious, easy way to make every guest feel welcomed to a special holiday dinner!

Halloween Children's Rhyme

My mother sang this song to us when we were children.
Now, during the month of October, my own children sing this rhyme.
We scream the boo part, or sometimes we sing the words in a really spooky whisper.
They love it.

Although this particular item was designed to fit an 8x10 frame in my home,
this would be great to go along with Halloween party invitations or favors!

Monday

Quotable Monday - unique card and envelope

The other day, I was flipping through some old books that had belonged to my grandfather. While flipping through the pages, a petite envelope fell out, accompanied by an equally unique card. I thought the sizing of the set was charming and original, which inspired me to make this set.

"The best way to predict your future is to create it."
Secretly slip some inspiration into your child's backpack before school, use it as a gift card for an upcoming college graduation, or use it for yourself as a reminder to be proactive in the quality of your own future.

Quotable Monday - Failures and Successes

When researching quotes to feature on Quotable Monday, I came across this:
"Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success."

It was applicable to me this week, so I wanted to share it with you.
Failing does not take away from who we are and what we are capable of.

It simply gives us an opportunity to not give up and to try again.
All we have to do is find the right course correction that will help us reach our goals.

Monogram Recipe Card

One of my favorite gifts from my wedding was a recipe card holder a friend made for me.  I pack that little box around to all our adventures [it even has its very own counter space wherever we go], fill it with all the recipes I acquire, and I think of her each time I use it.  Thinking of a gift that newlyweds will use, appreciate, and not receive in multiples can be quite a challenge!

Personalized recipe cards are a unique gift idea that are sure to be a treasured item for the lovebird's "Happily Ever After."

Cloud 9 - Anniversary or Love note

I have love on the brain.
My wedding anniversary is next week.

Share this card with your significant other, whether it's an anniversary, or a "just because" love note.

Add an element of surprise and tuck it somewhere unexpected.
On the bathroom mirror, in his work boots, taped to the steering wheel of his car in the morning...

What cloud are YOU on?

freebie friday- thank you cards

One of my all-time favorite things to do is get the mail! Lame? Maybe, but I love peeking inside the mailbox in hopes that I have been sent a wedding invite, baby announcement, or just a note to say hello!

I love getting notes. But I also love sending them. Among those kinds of notes are always "thank you" cards.

Thank you cards can be sent for a wide variety of reasons- a meal brought to your family after a crisis, someone who has influenced your life and you want them to know it, or a gift given for the exciting new adventure called marriage!

Regardless of why, everyone loves to get a thank you note. And I think sending a thank you notes helps re-enforce how grateful you truly are!

 {All gift cards will measure 4x6}

Hopefully you can find these little notes useful and will send a personalized thank you to those people who have helped you in the past few weeks or so.

xoxo, kyrsten

Thursday

two of my favorite things.

We are so lucky to have access to so many talented people filling their blogs with beautiful things. Around Valentines Day I was perusing the web in search of the perfect gift for my sweetheart. While doing so I stumbled across another amazing design site called Memento Designs. After searching through all of her incredible ideas, I saw a card she created for her significant other on their anniversary.

Now my guy loves personal, meaningful gifts and I knew that this would be something that he would absolutely love. So I searched my memories for the things that represent us as a couple and used her awesome idea to make my own personal 8x10 print! I think this would be a perfect father's day gift!

Every time Sam {my husband} sees this print hanging on our wall he tells me how much he loves it. Two of my favorite things: a happy husband and a beautiful home!!
