we had a waffle bar sign and food labels for each topping

and of course everyone loves a yummy soda as a party favor

this is the original invite

not only did i include everything for a baby shower, but also for a bridal shower!

Christmas Tree Paper Ornament

Since holiday decor is usually done on a budget in our house, I decided to come up with some ornaments I could make myself and even involve my four year old son with some of the process.
Thus, after some trial and error, we came up with the

I printed mine on textured cream card stock.
But, if you don't have any, computer paper is just fine!

Even if you're not loving the idea of paper ornaments hanging on your tree,
these would look darling as a tag to a gift or on place settings for dinner.

Happy holiday decorating!  Such a special time to build memories, don't ya think?

Magical Pillowcase Gift Tag

My mom is the greatest.  She loves making holidays special.
We spent Thanksgiving weekend at a cabin in the mountains... my favorite place to be.
Upon arrival, each guest had a Christmas pillowcase (made from the sweetest blue and red snowman fabric), along with a sweet poem called the

(if you know where this poem originally came from, please let me know so I can give proper credit)
It was such a nice surprise waiting for us on our beds.

And wouldn't your kids love getting one of these to slumber on?
It's those little touches that build Christmas memories and make this time of year special.

Sweet dreams!

Freebie Friday- But Saturday! Luggage Tags

I just got home from a wonderful Thanksgiving week trip in the beautiful state of Ohio!
I was visiting the cutest babies you ever did see!
{I claim them as my own!}

Yesterday was a travel day, thats why it was void of anything "Freebie Friday". Sorry about that!
As I was flying from state to state, I thought about how this is the time of year that a lot of us are out visiting the ones we love most.
So, I thought why not make luggage tags for all of those times we are flying on a jet plane?!

{luggage tags measure 4.25x2.25}

You can pick between any of the three. Blue for boys, pink for girls, and a little vintage airplane to add a touch of somethin' special!

Happy Flying to you!

party party party!!!

Hey everyone!

I'm going to my first "Thanksgiving" party of the year today and I'm so excited!!!
We are doing a bake off and I've lovingly coaxed my husband into being the baker!

Prizes will be given away for best tasting and most beautiful!
I'm going for both!

So I made a cake plate and decorated it with these tiny flags!

They are perfect for toothpicks and cupcakes!

Obviously our dessert isn't made, but nobody hates almond roca either right!?

Wish us luck! I'm a little competitive!

Freebie Friday- Halloween Coasters

Holy cow ladies! Are you wondering where in the heck we've been this week? Well, there is something that comes around once a semester called midterms... and they kicked my tooshie!
With that being said, I'm so sorry that there was no Quotable Monday this week and that this Freebie Friday really should be considered Freebie Saturday! Blah. Tests are finished, projects turned in and I'm ready to show you these darling Halloween coasters!

(It's hard to see that mummy, but I promise he's there!)
I started this project by going to my local craft store and picking up a package of 4inch cork coasters. I grabbed my mod podge and printed off the graphics on card stock.

I started cutting and mod podging and 15 minutes later I had myself some fun and festive 'safe guards' for my coffee table!

I have to preface the coaster with the mustache... My husband looked at it and said, "WHAT?"
Maybe my mind is the only one that thinks this way, but it says, "I mustache (must ask) you to use me for your drink"... funny right?! Right!? :)

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed that pumpkin spice cake cookie!

Oh how I love Halloween!

I hope these little darlings can find a place on your table! Or even used as a tag for some goodies!

I may be a little lame.. but I can't get our normal downloading system to work.. therefore we are going back to the pre-historic age and using google docs for this one! As soon as I figure it out I will change it.

Quotable Monday - unique card and envelope

The other day, I was flipping through some old books that had belonged to my grandfather. While flipping through the pages, a petite envelope fell out, accompanied by an equally unique card. I thought the sizing of the set was charming and original, which inspired me to make this set.

"The best way to predict your future is to create it."
Secretly slip some inspiration into your child's backpack before school, use it as a gift card for an upcoming college graduation, or use it for yourself as a reminder to be proactive in the quality of your own future.

Freebie Friday - Canning Labels

Okay, let's be honest.  I have a slight obsession with glass jars.  I bought like two flats of them last week. Oops.  I have this image in my head that I am going to can peaches, make jams or lemon curd and give them to friends and family.  I am still working on the actual canning part, but I thought I would start by designing some labels.

And really, sometimes, nothing is more darling than organizing by color.  Enjoy!

Personalized Sack Lunch Tags

Jazz up your humdrum sack lunches with these colorful tags.

There are four variations of this printable, making it possible for you to pair the perfect sack lunch tag with your little student's personality and interests.

As a mom, I like spending a few extra minutes on simple tasks
to help my children recognize how important they are to me.
Make the little things surprising and special.

Last year, my niece spent the night the evening prior to "Crazy Hair Day" at her school.  Before bed, we read Crazy Hair Day and the following morning I decorated her sack lunch and its contents to coordinate with the day's theme.  She loved it and now asks that I make her a sack lunch whenever she stays over on a school night.

Even while away at school,
I never want my kids to forget that I love them and am thinking of them.
And what better time to remind them than at lunchtime?

Now the question of the morning, turkey or PB&J?

Wednesday

Book Plates

Complimentary book plates.
Wouldn't you love opening a book to one of these goodies?

Use them as a notebook label, textbook book plate, or size them down to label pencil boxes, rulers, and other school supplies in a stylish way.

There are six varieties to choose from!

Popsicle Cozy - gift tag & pattern

I think popsicles are a huge part of summer nostalgia.

When my son was a teething baby, I'd wrap a paper towel
with a rubber band around the ice pop to keep his little fingers from getting cold.

Two kids later and a little experience has helped me make the perfect popsicle cozy.
Believe me, there have been several designs that have been modified and simplified.
There have been pocket cozies, wrap-around cozies, but the sleeve-style cozy is the way to go.

Cut out the sewing pattern from the free printable.
Just fold the top and bottom ends of your fabric under, basting stitch across.
Fold the square of fabric in half, right sides together, basting stitch down the side.
Super easy, super fast.  Only takes a minute or two per cozy.

Use an old dish cloth, terricloth, or snug fleece.
I like the snug fleece or quilters flannel because of the fun prints available for kids!
This pattern was formulated to fit a Pedialyte popsicle, but works great on Otter Pops, too!

What kid wouldn't love getting a cozied ice pop, topped off with a coordinating gift tag!
Make summer special.

Please allow sufficient time for image to upload.
